SRSG Ibn Chambas deeply concerned about the situation in Burkina Faso

Dakar, October 30, 2014 - The United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA) is deeply concerned about the situation in Burkina Faso, where violent incidents have occurred between security forces and demonstrators demanding the withdrawal of a bill on the revision of Article 37 of the Constitution.

New York, 30 October 2014- The Secretary-General is following with great concern the deteriorating security situation in Burkina Faso. He calls on all parties to end the use of violence, exercise calm and restraint, and use dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues.
