Yaoundé 25 April 2013 - ... It is always a renewed honour for me to come to Yaoundé on the invitation of Cameroonian authorities, and on this occasion, to preside over this thirty-first Session of the Mixed Commission. Permit me therefore thank our host, His Excellency Amadou Ali and through him, the Government of the Republic of Cameroon for the generous hospitality my delegation and myself have enjoyed since our arrival, and for the measures taken in order to ensure the success of this meeting.

Abidjan, le 24 April 2012 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa, Said Djinnit met on Wednesday in Abidjan with Mr Alassane Ouattara, President of Côte d’Ivoire and President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). They exchanged on the evolution of the political and security situation in West Africa in the last few months.

24 April 2013 – Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today welcomed the signing of a joint declaration by political actors in Guinea to resolve differences over preparations for stalled legislative elections and other contentious issues through peaceful means.

New York, 24 April 2013 - The Secretary-General welcomes the progress made toward the resumption of the political dialogue in Guinea. He is particularly encouraged by the signing, on 23 April, of a joint declaration between the Government, the opposition and the Presidential camp. The joint declaration calls on all political parties to refrain from any violent demonstrations and confirms their determination to resolve outstanding issues through peaceful and negotiated solutions. The Secretary-General also welcomes the statement made by President Alpha Condé, on 24 April, in which he expressed his readiness to implement all necessary measures with a view to guarantee the transparency and the credibility of the electoral process, with the involvement of international partners.
