Closure of UNOWA

The United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA) was established in January 2002 to promote political stability in the region. Its mandate ended in January 2016, when it merged with the Office of the Special Envoy for the Sahel (OSES) to form the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS).

Conakry, le 14 Septembre 2015- La Communauté Economiques des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO), l’Union Africaine (UA), l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) et les Nations Unies (NU) saluent le lancement de la campagne électorale en Guinée, en vue du scrutin présidentiel du 11 Octobre 2015. Cette étape du processus électoral est essentielle pour la consolidation des acquis démocratiques en Guinée.
